for Proposed Rule Changes for WV 19CSR 8 Limited Prescriptive Authority for Nurses in Advanced Practice has begun. Written comments will be accepted through 4:00 P.M. July 10, 2008. DIALYSIS TECHNICIANS - ONLINE RENEWAL!! DIALYSIS TECHNICIANS, CLICK HERE TO RENEW ONLINE Online renewal is available until 4:00 PM June 30, 2008 You must renew online or send your renewal by June 5, 2008 in order to receive your renewal certificate by June 30, 2008. A renewal notification postcard was mailed April 11, 2008 to Dialysis Technicians with a current active certification. Only complete one renewal, either online or paper. Do not complete two renewals. Only DT’s with a permanent certification are required to renew at this time. All DT certifications expire June 30, 2008. You must have a current certification to practice in West Virginia. Failure to renew may result in disciplinary action. DT’s with a temporary permit are not required to renew until after they are issued a permanent certification. In order to renew online you will need to know your certification number which you can find on your certificate, the last four digits of your social security number, and have a credit or debit card. The renewal fee is $100.00 and is non-refundable. If you have previous convictions or have a name change you cannot renew online. If you are not able to renew online, you must complete a paper renewal application. If you have any questions please call 304-558-3596. DIALYSIS TECHNICIANS CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD A PAPER RENEWAL FORM FOR MAILING  PRIMARY SOURCE VERIFICATION:The WV RN website is considered primary source verification and is actually the preferred method of licensure validation instead of viewing the license card. License cards, which are an additional evidence of licensure, may take several days to arrive. If a licensee presents a paper license card that shows different information than you find on this verification system, immediately phone the WV RN Board office at 304-558-3596 or e-mail rnboard@state.wv.us to verify the information. WV RN does primary source verification of an initial applicant's nursing education. This process requires a written request and a fee of thirty dollars ($30.00) in the form of a money order or cashiers check. Send the request to

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION
The Board does not anticipate any delays in issuing temporary permits for those with a Spring 2008 graduation.
